In the background, a portrait of Ali ibn Abi Talib, Prophet Muhammad’s cousin and son-in-law. In the foreground, he is shown from different perspectives : in the middle of the picture, just like the legend says, he is taking care of orphans while holding his double-edged sword, Zulfiqar. On the left side, he carries the banner of Islam on a white horse and lastly, in the right side, he carries a child, the successor of Shia Imams lineage. The fence in the background represents his mausoleum. At the bottom, a persian transcription says : “Learn from Ali to act with probity.”
En arrière-plan figure le portrait du premier imam chiite Ali ibn Abi Talib, cousin et gendre du prophète Mohammad. Il est représenté au premier plan sous plusieurs aspects : au milieu de l’affiche, il s’occupe, comme le veut la légende, de pauvres orphelins tout en tenant son sabre à deux lames, le Zolfaghâr. À gauche, sur son cheval blanc, dans son rôle de guerrier, il porte l’étendard de l’islam, et enfin, à droite il tient un enfant, son successeur dans la lignée des imams chiites.
