Résumé
This poster is signed Hossein Norouzian and dated 28 December 1978, which is almost two month before the triumph of the Islamic revolution. Three books are represented : the Quran and the Constitution are in the background while in the foreground is a book named “Azadi”, meaning “freedom” in persian language, held by a man wearing a safety pin, which symbolizes the poverty of the people. Red, white and green colors are used on the cover, symbolizing the iranian flag. From top to bottom are reproductions of revolutionary slogans : “Death to Bakhtyâr, obsequious lackey”, “ Long live to air force mujaheed”, “Aviation technician, you’re the apple of our eye”, “Death to zionism”,written near the star of David, “Outcome of imperialism” written near the american flag, and lastly “Death to the Shah”, in which the word “Shah” is written backwards to remind his fall.
L'affiche est signée Hossein Norouzian et datée du 28 décembre 1978, c'est à dire moins de deux mois avant la victoire de la révolution islamique.
Trois livres sont représentés sur l’affiche : en arrière-plan se trouvent le Coran avec la couverture bleue et la Constitution, tandis qu’au premier plan, le livre de la Liberté est entre les mains d’une personne portant une épingle à nourrice, symbole de la pauvreté du peuple. Ce dernier est sous-titré en rouge, en blanc, en vert, couleurs du drapeau iranien.
En bas, se trouvent des reproductions des slogans révolutionnaires tagués à la craie ou à la bombe sur les murs de Téhéran. De haut en bas peuvent être traduits en français : « Mort à Bakhtyâr, laquais inféodé », « Vive les mujahed de l’armée de l’air », « Technicien de l’aviation, tu es la lumière de nos yeux », « Mort au sionisme » figurant près d’une étoile de David, « Fruit de l’impérialisme » attaché au drapeau des Etats-Unis et enfin « Mort au Shah » pour lequel le mot « roi » est écrit à l’envers afin de montrer qu’il est déchu.
