Résumé
This image gives an overview of the EDF dam in Saint Guérin (Savoie). The seismological stations were deployed inside the dam, on the crest, at the dam/rock interface, on the path and around the water reservoir.
The installation of seismological sensor networks on dams can be used on an ad hoc basis to monitor their dynamic properties, to calibrate numerical models for structure design applications, or to quantify the spatial variability of seismic movements at the foot of a arch dam.
In 2015, a dense seismological network using up to 19 sensors was deployed for 1 year on and around the EDF hydroelectric dam of Saint-Guérin, in Savoie. It allowed to record during 12 months the response variations of the arch and its surroundings, caused by local earthquakes, temperature and water level variations in the dam reservoir.
The station instruments are part of the Résif National Mobile Seismological Park (SisMob), a national research infrastructure dedicated to the observation and understanding of the internal Earth structure and dynamics. Résif is based on observation networks of high technological level, composed of seismological, geodetic and gravimetric instruments deployed densely throughout France. The data collected allow to study with a high spatio-temporal resolution the ground deformation, the superficial and deep structures, the seismicity at the local and global scale and the natural hazards, especially seismic, on the French territory. Résif integrates with European (EPOS - European Plate Observing System) and worldwide instruments that allow to image the interior of the Earth as a whole and to study many natural phenomena.
Cette image donne une vue d’ensemble, côté aval, du barrage EDF de Saint Guérin. C’est un barrage à voute, à usage hydroélectrique. Les stations sismologiques ont été déployées à l’intérieur du barrage, sur la crête, à l’interface barrage/rocher, sur le sentier et autour de la retenue d’eau.
L'installation de réseaux de capteurs sismologiques sur des barrages peut être utilisée ponctuellement pour surveiller leurs propriétés dynamiques, calibrer les modèles numériques des applications de conception d'ouvrages ou encore de quantifier la variabilité spatiale des mouvements sismiques au pied d'un barrage-voute.
En 2015, un réseau sismologique dense utilisant jusqu'à 19 capteurs a été déployé pendant 1 an sur et autour du barrage hydro-électrique EDF de Saint-Guérin, en Savoie. Il a permis d'enregistrer pendant 12 mois les variations de réponse de la voute et de ses environs, causées par les séismes locaux, les variations de température et de niveau d'eau dans le réservoir du barrage.
Les instruments des stations font partie du parc national sismologique mobile (SisMob) de Résif, une infrastructure de recherche nationale dédiée à l’observation et la compréhension de la structure et de la dynamique Terre interne. Résif se base sur des réseaux d’observation de haut niveau technologique, composés d’instruments sismologiques, géodésiques et gravimétriques déployés de manière dense sur tout le territoire français. Les données recueillies permettent d’étudier avec une haute résolution spatio-temporelle la déformation du sol, les structures superficielles et profondes, la sismicité à l’échelle locale et globale et les aléas naturels, et plus particulièrement sismiques, sur le territoire français. Résif s’intègre aux dispositifs européens (EPOS - European Plate Observing System) et mondiaux d’instruments permettant d’imager l’intérieur de la Terre dans sa globalité et d’étudier de nombreux phénomènes naturels.
