A woman plays a form of traditional violin, called imzad en tamahaq (Salem Chaker, Hélène Claudot-Hawad, Marceau Gast, 1984, p. 72). With her right hand she holds the violin and with her left hand a wooden archer. A man, crouching behind the woman, probably recites poems inspired by music. This photograph is from a pasture of schuwia purpurea in the Tamesna region of northern Niger. colour photography.

De la main droite elle tient le violon et à la main gauche un archet en bois. Un homme, accroupi derrière la femme, récite sans doute des poèmes inspirés par la musique.
